We just want to thank our wonderful families who have been so understanding and so supportive of the infection control measures we have taken at all our aged care facilities.
We love our residents and we want to protect them. We also know how hard this is for everyone and it can be a very emotional time for all.
As it currently stands, we have closed our facilities to the community for the time being. We are assessing our infection control measures daily, but for now we feel this is the best possible way to manage and control exposure to our residents.
We know the weekend will be hard in particular, but again we ask you to please work with us. If it is absolutely necessary to visit a relative face to face, prior permission must be obtained from the Executive Manager Care Services or the CEO. Details are contained within the March 19 memo sent to families and on our website.
We must emphasise prior permission as we will not be in a position to admit entry to visitors over the weekend.
Special circumstances apply to palliative residents in consultation with our care management staff, and in accordance with our infection control precautions.
Please know that safety and compassion are our number one priority, but as you may be able to appreciate, sadly they don’t always work hand in hand in extreme circumstances like those we are currently experiencing around the world.
However, we will work together to get through this, and once again we want to thank you for your understanding, your cooperation and your patience.
