Shepparton Villages has been notified all residents at Maculata Place have returned a negative COVID-19 result for the third round of testing.
Additionally the Department of Health and Human Services (DHSS) has advised that the original COVID-19 resident at Maculata Place – the only resident case at Maculata Place - has been certified as clear.
This is pleasing news for all concerned and we have communicated this news to all residents and families.
In total, all 110 residents* at Maculata Place are now clear, including the original COVID-19 resident.
Shepparton Villages is now awaiting further instruction from DHHS as to the process for transitioning from Isolation to Active Surveillance. Staff testing is part of that process and Maculata Palce staff were tested on Thursday last week, and we await the return of those results before we can begin the transitioning process.
We envisage we will get further information about this process mid-week.
In preparation for transitioning out of isolation, we are currently conducting a thorough clean of all communal areas, including carpets, chairs, and upholstery.
Residents remain in isolation until we get the go ahead to move into active surveillance and we hope that will happen mid this week but it does depend on staff results. Our residents have been so patient and so understanding, as have their families and we thank them for their support.
Please note, 110 residents is the full residential list at Maculata Place at this time. This is less than the numbers quoted when the facility first went in to lockdown, however over the lockdown period, some residents have moved to hospital or have taken social leave with families. NONE of these are related in any way to COVID-19.
