Further easing of restrictions in Victoria over the weekend is good news for all in the lead up to Christmas.
However, COVID-normal for aged care is still vastly different in some areas than in the general public.
We will continue under our current visitor and infection control procedures and ask you to take note of the following:
At this point in time, face masks remain a requirement when visiting residential aged care facilities (so too the PPE levels for staff, noting that last week the face shields/goggles requirement was removed). If a visitor is unwell, they should stay home and get tested.
Our visiting hours remain between 7am and 8pm, with no restriction on the purpose of visits, the number of visitors or the length of the visit to care facilities. Screening and declarations are still required. Visitors are permitted in communal lounge areas providing they adhere to the density limit for that area and observe social distancing at all times.
Resident dining areas are for residents only and we ask visitors to refrain from gathering or sitting in resident dining areas. However, those wanting to make arrangements for private dining with their loved ones can do so via the receptionist at their facility. Please note, there is a cost to visitors for booked meals which must be paid at the time of booking. Private dining areas are not available on Christmas Day.
Residents may leave the building for outings but must abide by the laws applying to all Victorians once they leave the Shepparton Villages grounds. Please give staff at least a day’s notice to organise outings.
In relation to Christmas, our Christmas day options remain the same – you can take your loved one out for lunch and/or dinner, you can share a lunch hamper for up to three people in your loved one’s room (there is a cost to visitors), or residents may choose to have Christmas lunch in the dining room with fellow residents, however visitors are not permitted.
If you have any concerns please discuss with the Care Manager at your facility,
Many thanks for your ongoing patience and understanding.
