Aged care residents and keen bowlers are holding a gala fundraiser for their latest project.
Lawn bowling is a popular activity for some of the residents at Tarcoola and soon they will have a bowling green at their front door.
Shepparton Villages is holding a dinner on May 28 to raise money for a $120000 bowling green at the aged care home.
Chief executive Kevin Bertram said the three-rink turf bowling green would be enjoyed by not only Tarcoola residents, but also Rodney Park and Kialla Gardens.
"Residents will be able to enjoy friendly competition in the fresh air and at the same time enjoy the exercise that comes with bowling," he said.
Shepparton Villages marketing manager Vicki Glazner said bowling was popular among residents and the green would be exciting for those who wanted to get the extra practice in close to home.
"A lot of them already do bowl. This is just to help them to keep interacting," she said.
The Kitty Club Dinner will be held at the GV Hotel's Cabaret Room at 6.30 pin.
Dress is black tie or lounge suit and tickets are $90, which includes canapes on arrival, three-course meal and selected beverages.
