Ruby Baker, 86, and Dot Lonard, 91, won first prize for their respective show entries.

Mrs Baker made a flower pot shadow box and Mrs Lonard embroided a tablecloth.

Dot Chamberlain, 87, earned an encouragement award for her painting of the former Shepparton Post Office in 1974 before it was demolished.

Mrs Lonard entered her tablecloth in the show after showing it to a friend. 

She embroided a tablecloth with the same pattern for each of her daughters, Beverley and Pamela.

"I wanted to leave something personal for them," Mrs Lonard said. 

"Some parts I had to look in the mirror. The second one was much easier than the first."

Mrs Lonard is also a keen knitter, having finished 555 jumpers for premature babies at Goulburn Valley Base Hospital.

"I send them every month," she said.

Mrs Baker is a crafty allrounder who often makes things for other residents, such as fascinators for women when they celebrate Crown Oaks Day.

"If I see something, I'll think, 'What can I make out of that?''' she said.

Mrs Chamberlain started painting aged 60 after her first husband died. 

She learned to paint from an art teacher, who had originally visited her about buying goldfish she had advertised for sale.

The art teacher declared Mrs Chamberlain had artistic talent after a threemonth trial teaching her.

"I copy what she told me to do," Mrs Chamberlain said.

Mrs Chamberlain said she enjoyed painting off photos of buildings she had taken.

Her painting of the Mooroopna hospital before fire destroyed it won first prize at last year's show.
