The COVID -19 Omicron variant has presented Shepparton Villages with an unprecedented situation with multiple COVID outbreaks in our Aged Care Homes. This has impacted both residents and staff in many ways. At this stage it is unknown how long this situation will go on for.
At the current time the residents at Banksia Lodge, Maculata Place and Mooroopna Place are isolated in their rooms. Hakea Lodge is currently not impacted. Please be assured the residents are safe and are being appropriately cared for.
Like many other Aged Care Providers in the same situation, the biggest issue Shepparton Villages has is staffing. Several strategies are being employed to obtain more staff. This includes extending shifts, recalling staff from leave, contacting numerous staffing agencies and other providers for assistance, contacting former staff to return to help and working with both the State and Federal Governments.
To assist our staff to get through this period, SRV is seeking Volunteers to help. Volunteer roles that we are looking to fill are:
These roles will not be replacing current staff roles, rather they are there to assist and ease pressure on the staff and to help our residents during these lockdowns.
If you know of anyone who would like to volunteer their services for any of these roles (and they are double vaccinated), please ask them to contact Carmen Saunders on 03 5832 0800 or via email on: carmens@sheppvillages.com.au.
Shepparton Villages would like to take this opportunity to thank you for considering this request. Please be assured we are doing everything we possibly can to resolve this situation as soon as we can. As always, the welfare of residents and staff are at forefront of everything we do.
Please stay safe and well.
