Boost for Shepparton Villages' services
The executive officer of a philanthropic foundation that has gifted Shepparton Villages more than $150,000 says she is excited to see the aged-care provider expand its services.
Tanya Costello, of the Jack Brockhoff Foundation, was in Shepparton this week to tour Tarcoola Village.
The foundation most recently donated $20,000 for the refurbishment of independent living units for people with limited assets.
Ms Costello said she had enjoyed her first visit to Shepparton Villages.
"Over the years Jack Brockhoff and his foundation have given a lot of money to Shepparton Villages because they're a community charitable organisation and there's a lot of local support for them," Ms Costello said.
"We visited an independent living unit here and had a look around at the accommodation and the lady living there was very enthusiastic about how Shepparton Villages had provided her with a home."
Ms Costello said plans were in the works to grow Shepparton Villages, the biggest aged-care provider in the Hume, even further.
"It's been wonderful to get a taste of what's in store," she said.
Shepparton Villages care services executive manager Kerri Rivett said the organisation was delighted to have The Jack Brockhoff Foundation visit Shepparton Villages.
"Not often do you have people like Tanya come up to a small regional area like ours and look at what we do," Ms Rivett said.
"It's been fantastic , words can't say enough."
