Please be assured that Shepparton Villages is looking at relaxing our visitation policy given the low numbers in the Goulburn Valley of COVID-19.
Given Victoria is still in a State of Emergency all visitations will be controlled and managed to ensure the ongoing safety of residents and staff. We will have more information to families and advocates in coming days.
As you may appreciate, our current measures have been in place to ensure the ongoing safety of some of the most vulnerable people in our community, our residents, your loved one – and thankfully, so far we have kept our residents safe from COVID-19. This remains our number one priority.
Our facilities are however still operating as communities - residents still enjoy socialisation (with social distancing) in communal areas including the dining room for meals, lounges, courtyards, and activities areas. Our lifestyle staff are still running their usual activities except for external outings. Our Facebook page has been documenting the many activities and programs that are running.
Residents are free — as always — to move within the facilities and outside in our gorgeous gardens.
Our residents are NOT locked in their rooms in isolation, as was inferred in some segments of government this week.
We, as much as anyone, want to return to normality as soon as possible but we won’t compromise on safety which means that our visitor program will be a staged and managed program to be communicated to all families/advocates in coming days.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
